Two crew members setting the ladder at the entry of a white brick home

Gutter Crew and Solutionist Jobs in Northwest Arkansas

Quick answer

Gutter jobs in Northwest Arkansas: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Northwest Arkansas, locally owned by Chalice Suratt in Springdale, is always hiring two roles: Crew Members, who form, hang and fix seamless gutters, and Solutionists, who meet homeowners and write honest estimates. You do not need gutter experience. Construction, roofing, exterior work or field sales experience helps, but reliability and a good attitude matter more, and every new team member trains on the Brothers system. Our crews are background-checked W-2 employees, never day labor. Call (479) 370-5248 and ask for the role you want, or see both openings on our careers page.

Why the work is steady

Oak and hickory country keeps a gutter crew busy

Every home in Northwest Arkansas needs gutters that can keep up, and every one of those gutters needs somebody who knows how to hang it right. That is the job.

Northwest Arkansas is one of the fastest-growing places in the country, and it is also one of the hardest on a gutter system. Oak, hickory and maple canopy drops leaves every fall. Spring storm season brings straight-line wind and hail, and heavy spring storms test every seam at once. On top of that, 45-plus inches of rain a year has to get off the roof and away from the foundation. When the water cannot get out, it backs up over the fascia and into the roofline, and homeowners call.

The land adds work too. This is steep, wooded country, and on hillside lots the water often has nowhere good to go, which is why our crews install underground drainage as well as gutters. Our post on downspouts, drainage and steep wooded lots shows the kind of problems you will learn to solve.

The year has a rhythm. Spring means storm prep and the calls that come after a hard rain, including hail and wind repairs. Fall means leaves, and a lot of them. In between there are full seamless gutter installs on brick homes, second-story rooflines worked from the ladder and drainage on hillside lots.

Two ways in

Crew Member and Solutionist, side by side

The hands-on side and the problem-solving side. Here is what each role involves and what it asks of you, straight from our careers page.

Crew Member: seamless gutters, formed on the driveway

Our crew members are the reason a home stays dry through the worst storm of the year. You form seamless gutters on site from a coil on the truck, cut every run to the exact length of the roofline and hang it so the water goes where it should. The same crews handle repairs, cleanings, BroGuard metal mesh guards, fascia and drainage. Training on the Brothers system starts on day one. The full Crew Member role is on our careers page.

Solutionist: not a salesperson

We do not call the person who visits a home a salesman. We call them a Solutionist, because that is the job: walk the roofline, figure out what the house actually needs, explain it in plain language and give the homeowner a straight written quote. Your visits are scheduled with homeowners who asked for an estimate. You measure, photograph and diagnose the roofline, then write a clear, honest estimate on the spot. Some days that means a full seamless installation. Some days it means telling someone their gutters just need two hangers and a cleaning. After a storm, it also means photographing and documenting the damage so the homeowner’s insurance file is ready. You get training on our products and the Brothers way.

A day on the crew

What an install day actually looks like

No two weeks look the same, but the rhythm of a good install day does. Here it is, from loading the truck to the final walk with the homeowner.

  1. Load up and roll out.Check the day’s jobs, load the truck in Springdale and head out to homes across Northwest Arkansas.
  2. Set the ladder. Two crew members set the ladder at the house, like the entry of a white brick home, before anyone climbs.
  3. Form it right there.Seamless gutter runs through the machine at the truck, cut to the exact length of the roofline, so each run is one piece.
  4. Work the roofline.Install the gutter along the fascia, including second-story rooflines worked from the ladder.
  5. Hang it straight and tight.Set the pitch so the water goes where it should, then seal, guard and test.
  6. Leave it better.Walk the job with the homeowner and leave every property cleaner than you found it.

The Solutionist’s day

The Solutionist seat runs on appointments that homeowners booked because they wanted an estimate. At each stop you walk the roofline, measure, photograph and diagnose what is going on, then walk the homeowner through the options and write the estimate right there. Homeowners notice when it is done right. One wrote that the rep “showed us a level of care and attention to detail for his work that haven’t seen with other contractors.” Another said the rep “took the time to explain everything clearly and made the whole process easy.” That is the job, and it is the reason the role suits people who would rather tell a homeowner the truth than make a bigger sale.

Work you can point to

Every run you hang is a home that stays dry for years. You will drive past your own work all over Northwest Arkansas, from Fayetteville and Springdale to Bentonville and Bella Vista. One homeowner said the new gutters “gave our house such a face lift.” Few jobs let you point out the truck window on the drive home and say “I did that.”

Growth and fit

How you grow here, and who does well

This is a place to learn a real trade, even if you have never hung a gutter. Here is how the learning works and the kind of person who thrives on this crew.

How you grow

You do not need to walk in knowing gutters. Every new team member trains on the Brothers system, so you learn how we measure, form, hang and quote, and why. Nobody gets thrown on a ladder and left to figure it out. Our crews are our own W-2 employees, background checked and trained here, not day labor brought in for a week.

From there, growth means range. Crew Members learn to form seamless gutters from the coil, cut every run to length, set pitch, seal and test, and because the same crews handle repairs, cleanings, BroGuard guards, fascia and drainage, the skills you build cover the whole system, from the roofline down to where the water leaves the yard. Solutionists train on our products and the Brothers way and grow into the person Northwest Arkansas homeowners trust after a hard storm. Our careers page does not publish a promotion chart or pay scale, so ask about the next step when you call. We would rather tell you that than promise something on a blog post.

What we look for

  • You show up on time and finish what you start.
  • You like working outside and with your hands.
  • You are comfortable on a ladder, or ready to learn the right way.
  • You take pride in a clean, straight line.
  • You like people and you listen first.
  • You would rather tell a homeowner the truth than make a bigger sale.
  • You are organized and follow through.
  • You are curious about how houses work.

What you do not need

  • Gutter experience. Construction, roofing, exterior work or field sales helps, but it is not required.
  • Your own truck or gutter machine. We bring the trucks and the gutter machine.
  • A hard-sell personality. Solutionists visit homeowners who asked for an estimate.
  • To know the Brothers system already. Training starts on day one.
  • To figure it out alone. Nobody gets thrown on a ladder and left there.
  • A polished resume. A real person reads every message.

The team behind the name

Springdale-based, Ozark-tested, and built on one promise

This business was opened, and is run day to day, right here in Springdale so the work gets done by people who live under the same weather.

The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Northwest Arkansas is locally owned and operated by Chalice Suratt out of Springdale. The promise to homeowners is simple, and it is the standard you work to: show up on time, do clean work, tell the truth about what a home needs, and after a storm, photograph and document the damage so the insurance file is ready. You can read more on our about page.

Behind the local team stands The Brothers That Just Do Gutters, the national brand founded in 1999 by brothers Ken and Ryan Parsons. It calls its people Solutionists instead of salespeople, and it has spent more than 25 years doing nothing but gutters. Homeowners already know the name, so you walk up to every door with a head start.

What that looks like day to day

  • Background-checked W-2 employees on every job, never day labor.
  • Fully insured, including general liability, workers’ comp and auto.
  • Every review published, good or bad, so good work gets seen.
  • Written, itemized estimates: repair when repair is right, replace when it is not.
  • A local number and a local team. Nobody is routed to another state.
  • Trucks and the gutter machine provided, so you show up and work.

What homeowners say about the crew

Northwest Arkansas homeowners rate the team 5.0 on Google, and the reviews describe the crew you would be joining. One wrote that the crew “had our gutters installed quickly and efficiently.” Another said the crew “came in and went right to work” on a house that “was a hard one” and “did quality work.” A third wrote that “Nate and the crew were extremely helpful and courteous.” That is the standard, and it is one a good tradesperson is proud to meet.
