Gutters for older hillside homes above downtown Fayetteville
Mount Sequoyah is the largest mountain in Fayetteville. It was called East Mountain until the hilltop was given to the Methodist Assembly as a retreat, which held its first summer assembly in 1923, and Skyline Drive now loops the top. The 1920s Mount Sequoyah Cottages on East Skyline Drive are on the National Register, and the city’s Mount Sequoyah Woods covers about 70 acres on the east side. In Census Tract 101.11, which covers the mountain’s upper and western slopes, 88 percent of homes are detached houses, the median home was built in 1971 and 60 percent predate 1980. Big oaks and hickories shade most of these roofs.
Mount Sequoyah homeowners get a company that is locally owned by Chalice Suratt and based on West Sunset Avenue in Springdale: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Northwest Arkansas. We handle the whole roofline, from new seamless gutters formed on-site and hand cleaning to storm repair, BroGuard stainless micro-mesh guards and twice-a-year maintenance visits. On hillside lots we pay extra attention to where the water goes, adding extensions or underground drainage so it does not run toward the house below. Our team is licensed and insured, and our Google rating sits at 5.0 stars.
A steep, wooded lot is hard on a gutter. Leaves and acorns pile up fast, water picks up speed on the way down the slope and older fascia gives way behind runs that overflowed for years. We clean by hand, rebuild what is soft, form new seamless runs where the old ones are done and send every downspout somewhere safe.

Why the Brothers
Why Mount Sequoyah Homeowners Call the Brothers
We route downspouts into extensions or underground drain lines so roof water does not wash out a slope or run toward the house below.
BroGuard stainless micro-mesh keeps oak leaves, acorns and husks out of the trough while the rain flows through.
We replace soft fascia before new seamless runs go up, so a 1950s or 1970s roofline sheds water the way it should.
We work out of Springdale, a short drive up the road. Dial (479) 370-5248 and you talk with our own Northwest Arkansas staff.

Most homes on the mountain need two cleanings a year, one in late fall after the oaks and hickories drop and one in early spring before storm season. Homes right under the canopy often need a third. BroGuard stainless micro-mesh keeps most of the leaves and acorns out and cuts down on cleanings, which helps on tall hillside walls.
Away from the foundation and not straight down the slope toward the house below. We can add extensions, move downspouts or connect them to an underground drain line that carries water to a safer discharge point. We walk the lot with you first and give you the options in writing.
It depends on what we find. Six in ten homes on the upper slopes were built before 1980, and many still carry old gutters over tired fascia. If the boards are sound and only a few joints leak, a repair is often enough. If the seams leak along the whole run and the wood is soft, a seamless replacement with new fascia is the better value.
Yes. We look over the whole system, fix what can be fixed and replace sections that are too far gone with new seamless gutter in a matching color. You get photos of the damage and the finished repair to send to your insurer.
We do. Our crews cover Mount Sequoyah, Skyline Drive and the east side, plus downtown, Wilson Park and the rest of Fayetteville, Farmington, Elkins and Springdale. Call (479) 370-5248 with your address to set up a free written estimate.
