Gutters for newer homes on one of the county’s oldest settlements

Mount Comfort is the northwest Fayetteville area along Mount Comfort Road, around the spots where Rupple Road and Salem Road meet it. Solomon Tuttle and his son-in-law William D. Cunningham settled the upland valley here in 1828, and the place took its name from the Cumberland Presbyterian church at its center. The Presbyterian church standing today, built in 1874, sits just north of where Rupple Road meets Mount Comfort Road, and its graveyard holds many of the first settlers. Hamestring Creek, once called Mount Comfort Branch, runs through the area. Subdivisions have since replaced most of the old farms: in the census tract north of Mount Comfort Road, 78 percent of housing units went up from 2000 through 2019. NOAA’s Fayetteville Experiment Station, about two and a half miles east, records 46.28 inches in an average year.

Mount Comfort homeowners get a company that is locally owned by Chalice Suratt and based on West Sunset Avenue in Springdale, a short drive north: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Northwest Arkansas. We form seamless gutters on-site, hand-clean and flush existing systems, fix storm damage, replace fascia and install BroGuard stainless micro-mesh guards. Our team is our own background-checked W-2 crew, the company is licensed and insured, and our Google rating is 5.0 stars.

Most homes here are new enough that they still wear the gutters the builder put on. Those systems are often sized to the minimum, with few downspouts and outlets that empty right beside the foundation, and seams and end caps start to drip after a few hard springs. State wildlife biologists note that most of the oak and hickory forest on this part of the Springfield Plateau gave way to farms and then neighborhoods, but the yard trees planted since are growing into the gutters now.

Mount Comfort Gutter Questions, Answered

Our Mount Comfort home is only 15 years old. Why do the gutters overflow?

Builder gutters are often sized to the minimum, with too few downspouts for a long roof. In the tract north of Mount Comfort Road, the median home dates to 2007, so we see this a lot. We clean and flow-test the system, then tell you plainly whether adding downspouts will fix it or whether larger seamless gutters make more sense.

Water pools by our foundation after it rains. Can you help?

Usually, yes. Many newer homes have downspouts that empty right at the slab. We can add extensions, splash blocks or underground drain lines that carry the water out into the yard. We walk the lot with you first and put the options and prices in writing before any work starts.

When is the best time to clean gutters around Mount Comfort?

Once in late fall after the yard trees go bare, and once in March before the storms start. The Fayetteville Experiment Station’s normal is 46.28 inches a year, and April through June brings 15.20 inches of it, so clear gutters matter most going into late spring. BroGuard micro-mesh keeps leaves and seed out between visits.

Do you fix hail damage from spring storms?

Yes. The National Weather Service’s spring climate summary for northwest Arkansas lists heavy rainfall, gusty winds and hail. We inspect every run, straighten or reseal what can be saved and swap out crushed sections for new seamless gutter that matches. You get photos of the damage and the repair for your insurer.

Do you serve all of northwest Fayetteville?

We do. Our crews cover the Mount Comfort area, the Rupple Road and Salem Road neighborhoods and the rest of Fayetteville, plus Johnson, Springdale, Farmington and Tontitown. Give us a call at (479) 370-5248 and we will book your free written estimate.
