Gutters for wooded lots in the Boston Mountains
Natural Dam is the unincorporated Crawford County community on Highway 59, about six miles north-northwest of Cedarville. It takes its name from the natural dam near its original townsite, a 200-foot sandstone shelf that stretches bank to bank across Mountain Fork Creek and drops into a pool eight feet below. Highway 59 crossed Lee Creek here on a 1934 truss bridge, listed on the National Register until its 2018 replacement. Homes are spread along Natural Dam Road, Independence Road and the side roads off the highway. In the surrounding census tract, 94 percent of homes are lived in by their owners. The NOAA station named Natural Dam, about five miles south near Cedarville, averages 50.89 inches of rain a year.
Natural Dam homeowners get a company that is locally owned by Chalice Suratt and based on West Sunset Avenue in Springdale: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Northwest Arkansas. Our service area takes in this whole part of Crawford County, from Cedarville and Alma to Van Buren and Mountainburg. We form seamless gutters on-site, hand-clean and flush existing systems, fix storm damage, rebuild fascia and fit BroGuard stainless micro-mesh guards. The company is licensed and insured, every crew member is a background-checked W-2 employee, and our Google rating is 5.0 stars.
This is heavy rain country. Fifty inches a year is more than the stations at Fayetteville, Bentonville or Green Forest record, and the Natural Dam station’s wettest month is April. Natural Dam also sits in the Lower Boston Mountains, where state wildlife biologists list red oaks, white oak and hickories as the main upland trees, with shortleaf pine on drier slopes. So the trough collects leaves, husks and needles, plus a lot of water. On a hillside lot, an overflowing gutter sends that water straight toward the low side of the house.

Why the Brothers
Why Natural Dam Homeowners Call the Brothers
With more than 50 inches a year, we size gutters and downspouts for the storms, not the averages, so water stays in the system.
On a sloped rural lot we pick a safe outlet for every downspout, from a simple extension to a buried line downhill.
Natural Dam sits in the same service area as Cedarville, Alma, Van Buren and Mountainburg, all served by our Springdale team.
After hail or high wind we fix the damage and give you photos of the before and after for your insurance claim.
Year-round
Your Natural Dam gutter calendar
The yearly gutter plan for Natural Dam homes, built around a wet spring that peaks in April and a heavy fall leaf drop in the hills.
- Spring · Mar to MayWettest stretch
Over 15 inches of rain falls in these three months on average. We repair storm damage and check that every outlet keeps up.
- Summer · Jun to AugInstall and drainage work
Drier ground makes summer the time to replace old gutters, upsize downspouts and bury drain lines.
- Fall · Sep to NovLeaf and needle cleanup
October and November average 9.25 inches combined, right as the leaves come down. We clear the troughs, flush the outlets and add BroGuard where it pays off.
- Winter · Dec to FebHanger checks
We look for sags, loose brackets and leaking joints before freezing nights and the spring storms add more load.

Yes. Natural Dam is inside our service area, along with Cedarville, Uniontown, Alma, Van Buren and Mountainburg. Our team is based in Springdale, and the estimate is free and in writing. Ring (479) 370-5248, give us your road and house number, and we will pick a day that suits you.
The Natural Dam station averages 50.89 inches of rain a year and 5.39 inches in April alone, more than the Fayetteville, Bentonville or Green Forest stations record. Small gutters, too few downspouts or one clogged outlet will spill in storms like that. We clean and test the system, then recommend larger seamless gutters or extra downspouts only where they are needed.
Out past the foundation, to a spot that can absorb it without cutting a ditch. On sloped lots we usually extend downspouts, add splash blocks or run an underground line to a safe spot downhill. We walk the property with you first, then give you the options and prices in writing.
BroGuard is a fine stainless micro-mesh, so it stops pine needles and small debris along with oak and hickory leaves, while rain still drains straight through. Very fine grit can sit on top of the mesh until the next rain washes it off, but the trough itself stays clear and cleanings drop off a great deal. We can fit it during a cleaning or with new gutters.
Yes. Per the National Weather Service in Tulsa, spring thunderstorms in this part of Arkansas can carry heavy rain, gusty winds and hail. We check the whole system, repair what can be saved and replace badly dented sections with new seamless gutter in a matching color, then give you photos of the damage and the repair for your insurer.
